Winter Weekend Wollup

Well, you didn't need "Dual Doppler Radar" to tell you that there was a big winter storm across Ohio this weekend. The official definition of a blizzard is "snow with winds in excess of 35 mph and visibilities of 1/4 mile  or less, for an extended period of time." I'd say we more than qualified!

The snow started Friday morning and steadily intensified into Saturday night. We didn't have to think about whether or not to go to town as we couldn't! Cleveland Hopkins airport closed down and very few ventured out as the snow accumulation mounted to 24 inches.

Here at the farm, our neighbor got his truck stuck. He says he likes to plow our driveway because "it's a good long run." Well, unfortunately, he met 3-foot drifts where the snow had been whipping around our house.  It took several sessions, about 6 people and a second truck to remedy the situation.

And all this after a warm spell had brought out the sap buckets last week!  But according to the forecast, the snow will melt and the sap will start running again soon.
