Off the Grid

Jack loading the wood burning furnace. Paul's got an enormous wood pile and built himself a wood 'pavilion' to keep it under a roof and nice and dry. There's back-up oil, but the wood burner does much of the heating. It is amazing that the burner is probably 20 feet from the house, and hot water is piped through insulated pipes into the basement, with almost no heat loss! House should be nice and cosy, because he put in radiant floor heating as well. Given winters in NE Ohio, all of this seems like a good idea!
