Folk Alley

Our neighbor, Jim Blum, has become a local celebrity as host of the folk music program at Kent's radio station, WKSU (89.7) You can read all about Jim here - but it doesn't do justice to his quirky and charming personality! Better yet, I've discovered you can listen to Jim on the web at Folk Alley, where he hosts all kinds of great folk and acoustic music - from bluegrass and oldtime to Celtic to Texas swing to blues to world music. Great listening while you do your email - I highly recommend it. Here's a picture of Paul and Jim from younger years - don't they look like trouble?!!

Neither snow, nor rain, nor dark of night...

Today's Plain Dealer reported that the old Chardon Post Office, which was an historical building built in 1939 as part of a public works project, has been renovated as the new corporate headquarters of the accounting firm Neece and Malek. (Link) One of the nice things about Chardon is the historic central part of the town, including the buildings along main street, the old Park Auditorium, and of course, the architecturally wonderful Geauga County Courthouse. It's a pleasure to see the old post office building getting a much needed facelift, and hopefully it will be a good home for its new owners!
