Spring has been stirring at Villa Mir Farm, or rather Carol has been! The weather has been cooperating to produce some nice sap runs and Carol decided to seize the opportunity to revisit exactly what's involved in making maple syrup. After crafting an outside fire pit and spending a day boiling down sap, she had a nice pint to show for it. Careful, Carol, that's how our own Scott Hoffman got started as a kid and now look at his operation! Maybe Jack and his friend Kirby, who joined Carol long enough to roast some marshmallows, will be inspired to take up the craft.
Meanwhile, plans for fresh eggs are in the offing with the arrival of baby chicks. They're happy in their little box right now, but those Chardon Chicks will soon be grazing on Villa Mir grass.
