Maple Festival Time

This weekend was the Maple Festival. Went Friday night for 'dinner.' Later that night there was an incident on one of the rides. No one was seriously hurt, but it brought the reporters out on Saturday and Jack managed to get in the shot (he shows up at around 40 seconds and adopts the Mom being interviewed).

We also ran into the Hiram Rapid Stumblers, who were busking (or basking) underneath the glow of the Geauga Cinema sign.

More on Eggs

Villa Mir Farm is situated next to a large Catholic cemetery called All Souls. I often go for walks there to enjoy the beautiful grounds and to also visit Paul and Caroline Kovac among other departed friends. After visiting Eggshelland at Easter, I couldn't help but notice these lovely handcrafted crosses - made out of egg cartons. I bet they were put there by a Slovenian or some other frugal immigrant. I also liked this cross made out of rushes.

We've had a lovely, cool spring in Northeast Ohio. A little too cool for some, as the snow on these lupines illustrates.

Eggshelland!

Eggshelland is in full bloom in Lyndhurst, a suburb of Cleveland. A film about this quirky Easter tradition was just released. Watch the trailer or drop by to see the display if you live in the Cleveland area: 1031 Linden Lane, Lyndhurst, OH 44124.
