Chardon is famous for being the buckle of the snow belt in northeast Ohio. Carol discovered this website that tracks snowfall in our beloved little town. So far, this winter is proving to be a good one for the white stuff!

Free-Range Christmas Trees

Sound funny? At Villa Mir Farm, you'll find a select amount of cut-your-own Christmas trees in a natural setting and in their natural state. Paul Kovac grows trees with character. Trees that haven't been overly pruned or coerced into perfect cone shapes. Trees that have been nurtured to their full natural beauty.

You'll find interesting varieties: Colorado Blue Spruce, Balsam Fir, Douglas Fir and White Pine. Trees are choose and cut your own, though Paul will help you with the process. Price is $5/foot up to 8 feet. There are even a couple 20+ foot trees available. Maple Festival Time

This weekend was the Maple Festival. Went Friday night for 'dinner.' Later that night there was an incident on one of the rides. No one was seriously hurt, but it brought the reporters out on Saturday and Jack managed to get in the shot (he shows up at around 40 seconds and adopts the Mom being interviewed).




We also ran into the Hiram Rapid Stumblers, who were busking (or basking) underneath the glow of the Geauga Cinema sign.
